Mk 6 GTi Issues......
« on: 26 October 2010, 18:11 »
Hi All,

Whenever I accelerate (fairly quickly!!), there is a rustling sound coming from underneath the front end/centre front cabin. VW have said that their other vehicles of similar spec also do the same. but I am intrigued to know if any of your GTi's (or R's) do the same and/or if there is something particular that is causing this?

When I have turned the traction control off, and I take off (fairly quickly!), the car judders and the traction control light (not the off one on the dial on the left hand side, but another one on the dial on the RHS) flashes. VW say that, as a safety measure the traction control can't completely be turned off, hence my issue. Is this true? If so, whats the point of the off button?!!

One more!! on a cold morning, when turning the wing mirror knob to turn them out, they don't respond. It takes a little while before they do fold out. Whats the problem here...?

Thanks in advance, but VW have fobbed each query off, so I am intrigued to find if any of you have had similar issues and the outcome of them?

Have the same issue with the mirrors but haven't been in touch with the dealer yet.  Saving up any gripes and offloading them in one big moan.
Can't help with your other problems either I'm afraid.

Mine occasionally does the wing mirror thing,i just switch it on the off again and that seems to sort it,i was wondering if its because i dont fold the mirrors that often  :undecided:

Wing mirrors happens with me. But I'd rather live with it than have them remove bits and pieces and not put them back together properly again.

As for ESP not being "completely off", AFAIK that is true. Have a search on here and other Golf forums as it gets mentioned from time to time.

I also had the problem of the rustling sound coming from underneath the front end/centre front cabin. VW managed to do 10 miles in my car and then tell me it was just my exhaust. now i have another issue that is more annoying than ever a rattle from inside the dash. anybody else had this issue?
