Ask the dealer

When I had mine I asked for the radio code. They said its on computer in the service department, they don't supply them on a label as they used too because people keep it the car so anyone can see it. Ok but I still need it just in case the battery should go dead. You don't need the radio code if you just replace the battery because that radio RCD310 is logged in the ecu. When you put the new battery on the ecu checks the radio to see if it matches. The only reason you need the code is if you tried to fit it in another VW.

Ok its my car and my radio I still want the code so they gave it to me. If you want the code because you are selling it then ask the dealer for it.

When I changed my head unit to an RNS-510, I tried asking my service dept for the security code for the 310 but they were unable to get it on-line.
In the end, they had to re-install the old head unit, link the car up to VW system to extract the code.
