You do seem to be a good sort Evo, but the GTD being more desirable than a GTI comment will never go away.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

Seems i might have stepped on a few toes here oops !, firstly let me apologise to anyone that has been offended, that was not my intention. I was just stating my position on a 30K GTI.

Quick question Evo, are you saying that my statement "a few dealers are actually specing cars for themselves now because they are not selling their allocation" is untrue ?

I was offered 2 GTIs from different dealers before i ordered mine, which took 10 weeks to arrive.....................

When did you order yours?

I can imagine you being offered cars, after all we have to order one for stock for our selves as a demo which we havent actually had a demo gti for almost a year as we have sold our demo cars coming through due to lack of 'customer allocation and availability' this is completely different to customer allocated orders.

Hi Evo

ordered 12th July, delivered 22nd oct.

I must admit i still dont understand your response. If a dealer has an allocation of 4 per month, and sells them for this month and the following lets say the next 3 months, then the lead times start to get like some have been quoting. If the same dealer wants a car for stock, he hasnt got one simpler as that isnt it ( unless there is another garage within the same group who has allocation )

If another dealer has an allocation of 2 per month and only sells 1, he has to take the car as stock, or as you describe " ordered for stock " to use as a demo.

I didnt understand Evos reply that was all, i was just trying to point out that some dealers have not sold their allocation hence cars being offered on here.

Ring a few dealers, some have cars unregistered ready to go, not many  i admit but some.............

Customer allocation is a different thing to demo/stock allocation. Probably the reason they have cars to offer is that they have not sold there current demo and therefor dont register the next one coming through so can offer you that car. Back in june/july 2009 I probably could off offered you dozens of specs of cars as there was quite alot already built ready to go from Emden. I know when I got my GTD last year I had the choice of loads at port. Times have changed from then as they are not simply building cars in hope to sell, also they wont build thousands and thousands of gti's as will flood market and residuals will crumble. A very complicated matter allocation I wish it wasnt.
