Yeah got mine, renewed it at a cost of £144 for 2 years cover.  I felt that was reasonably cheap.

I started a thread about VW Assistance some time ago.
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=164179.0

All I was picked up on was the cost aspect but the reason I started the thread was because of the inconsistancy of their admin. The service itself is very good (or was in 2007 when I last used it) but the system behind it, which is probably the VW run bit, is crap.

Still £144 for two years isn't bad value. I let mine slip though as I already have multi car breakdown cover for my old banger daily runabout which is hopefully more likely to need it.

I used VW assistance once many moons ago... it was an RAC van that came out. Although the gent who came with the van was a previously VW qualified technician which was fortunate.

So just incase you think its VW themselves that come out.... its not :nerd:

You are sooooo right there.

I used to work for the RAC and they had the contract at the time, but motorman(ufacturer) cover as they call it switches quite often. VW pay to have so many VW liveried vans on the road, if they`re all busy on calls, they will send one of the normal vans, be it AA or RAC - or any of the other numerous suppliers. Usually if it a top notch marque, they will call first to see if the person minds being attended by an RAC tech. Most of the patrols know each other anyway, so will call someone if they`re not sure.

I get my RAC cover through using my Tesco club points now, so I wont be renewing mine with VW.
