I am going to wait until the first service , 10000 miles.
Just want to let it settle in and get familiar with all the engine sounds before upgrading.

I have the bluefin handset in the house already programmed, transferred from the MK5..

Engines dont need "broke in" these days with CNC machining and working to such fine tolerances. Fair enough back in the day, but this "rule" has just been past down and down the generations. Take it easy for 1K if you can then go for it

VW test your engine through its limits after it has been built anyways, so it broke in even before you get it! Someone else has already been there!

Yes.

Tell your insurance company and be prepared for a small increase, if they do mods that is.

Enjoy.

Im a new golf gti owner and i want to get my car remaped ! but i need advice as to which one to go for and whether or not to stay clear ? also would it ivalidate my warranty ?

Why do you want to remap a car you've only just bought? If you do have any warranty issues you will have to lie consistently to the dealer otherwise the warranty will be void.
Oh, and don't forget to tell your insurance company; you were going to tell them weren't you?
Warranty will only be an issue if VW can prove the remap caused any fault. If they do you have the remap company's warranty to fall back on.
Same goes for any mod like changing rear lights (VW could void warranty to the whole lighting system if they wanted) or changing the exhaust, wheels, stereo, headlights or even fitting your own number plate.
In reality there are rarely any problems.
You are taking a risk if you don't inform your insurance company, we all know what crooks they are so don't give them any excuse.

From my current experience, VW Warranty is not worth the paper it is written on.
Probably get better protection from the re-map company.
But must inform the Insurance Company who are really slippery.

Get mine tomorrow and I was straight onto AMD (Essex) about remapping for Saturday but they recommend 500 miles minimum before.......so i've booked in for a couple of weeks and I'm going to put some 500miles easy driving inbetween....but I'm sure it's like putting a fruit pastille in your mouth and trying not to chew...I know I'll floor it at somepoint
