I too liked both of these colours but went for white and i still think it was the right decision. It just looks fantastic when clean . The carbon grey may date better but doesn't stand out as much.

Now, at last, I've come to a conclusion about available UK GTi colours.

White is very common now and most of the time looks cream. Black always looks filthy.

Best colours for me in order of preference are: (1) Tornado Red or Shadow Blue, (3) Carbon Grey or Steel Grey.
