Thanks to Nick at Skuzzle Motorsport we are just about there. It runs, goes like the clappers, it pops, it bangs, it whines and it chirps. Sadly the injectors run out of head room at 6,000rpm despite being 1.8 Items so I'm sourcing some RX8 ones. Once they're in and another mapping session we should hopefully see the full use of the rev range as the limiter is currently set at 6,200.

That's a bit personal!

These old MX5's lumps are good for 300bhp on standard internals so no worries there. They were originally fitted in the 323 turbo so they're a turbo engine without a turbo from the factory.
