I'm a bit confused myself regards what we spoke about the other day Asker...basically the mk6 has you know has both cornering and level control, but on ETKA it show 3 modules? Only 2 can be fitted 1 is needed for both cornering and leveling this is the xenon control module that the gateway see's then there is either a power control module which is the ballast under the light housing but also a very similar one that is described has cornering power control module and looks exactly like the ballast???

I presume if you don't want the corning facility or leveling then you just buy the normal power unit to retrofit the lights??? If you want the full monty then you buy the cornering power control module.

I think i've answered my own question there.

Maybe SteveP can answer this has I think he has the xenons on his?

Darren

I have now, at last, been given the correct Part Nos by SteveP for the Bi-Xenons.

For RHD cars, i.e. LH Traffic, Part Nos as follows:-

(1) 5K2 941 753 B  -  LEFT CHROME/BLACK  ------ GTi
(2) 5K2 941 754 B  -  RIGHT CHROME/BLACK  ---- GTi

(3) 5K2 941 753 C  -  LEFT BLACK  ----------------  R
(4) 5K2 941 754 C  -  RIGHT BLACK  --------------  R

Therefore, the ones advertised by German ebay sellers are not the correct ones for UK traffic.

PS: However, I have found out today that one or two sellers can get the above for no extra charge.

For those of you interested, here is the shopping list required to Retro-fit Golf R Bi-Xenons to a Golf GTi/GTD.
It been quite a task to compile this!

[1] 5K2 941 753 C Left Black, 5K2 941 754 C Right Black = 739,00 Euro (with extra discount!)
[2] 2x Controller Xenon = 250,00 Euro
[3] 2x Philips/Osram Xenon Burner = 88,00 Euro
[4] Adapter Harness from Halogen to Xenon = 45,00 Euro
[5] Retaining Ring x 2 (£6.70 each - Pt No 5M0 941 645)  = £13.40
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[6] Power module for cornering light (Pt No 7L6 941 329 B) £156.28 each UK/317,00 Euro for pair from Germany
[7] Cornering control - 5M0 907 357C - £137.00 UK for pair/100,00 Euro for pair from Germany
[8] Auto-levelling - Xenon - Retrofit - VW Golf Mk6 = 219,00 Euro from KUFATEC

Items [1] to [5] are for the basic fitting. Adding Items [6] to [8] provides the lot, less item [4] which is included with item [8].

Any corrections, additions and suggestions are very welcome and much appreciated.

^^^ The price for the Kufatec autolevels is also only valid for cars with ACC, non ACC cars need the kits which costs 359 euros.

Flaming heck what a blinking palaver, you'd have been so much better off not being so tight and speccing them with your original order

.....and dont we know it!

The issue i had was i added them to my list when specing the car but the xenons put the monthly payments right up and it was too much as i have just bought a house in March, then a few months later when i went to may the rest of my deposit and sign the payments the salesman sweetend the deal (family friend) and dropped the interest rate which dropped my payments right down! If only i had known!!!

You have no bloody idea dahling how much time this has taken me.
Still trying to save Euros, but I think we are nearly there. Should be firmed up in the next few days.

Yes, I was mean when speccing the car. Thought I could get Xenons cheaply as a retro-fit (idiot+) just as I did with the RNS 510 (clever+). Do you blame me? Also, did not know about this Forum at that time.

At least, through all this, I have met a really nice guy - Kenny.

BTW: Both Kenny and moi have gone a bit nuts!!!!! ---- I think???

Oh, I have sort of harangued SteveP constantly and he has shown great restraint!
