Back to topic.
The Mk6 R is in another league both in price and performance to the Mk5 Ed30.
It is a better car.

Mines will only dip in reverse if the knob is in the L position.
Which for me is ideal as reversing out a narrow gap, I prefer both mirrors in the normal position

Put the car in reverse and adjust your passenger mirror to view the kerb.
Take the car out of reverse, and it should revert back to where it was.

Thats how it works - if you have it!

So that's how it works. I didn't know that, I should really read the manul somtime ( but then real men don't read manuals ).......

I didn't know the mirror dips in reverse either.

It's definitely in a different league price-wise, but real-world performance is not as different I might have hoped for. However, when its wet and slippery, the R is well out in front. And it feels a more 'grown up' car than the GTI - if that makes sense.

This thread is about Mk6 R vs MK5 Ed30 not Mk6 GTi.
