Luxury Pack on a GTi/GTD/R - £125 - Electrically foldable door mirrors, reverse activated kerb view adjustment on passenger's side.
Winter Pack on a GTi/GTD - £365 - Headlight washers, heated front seats, heated windscreen washer jets and low washer fluid warning light.
Winter Pack on an R - £345 - Headlight washers, heated front seats, heated windscreen washer jets and low washer fluid warning light.

Winter Pack - £20 cheaper on an R as it already comes with Headlight washers with the Bi-Xenons (standard).

All the above without the part-leather interior which is a waste of money.

Winter/Luxury Packs are not a waste of money.

Winter/Luxury Packs are not a waste of money.

It depends which options you have already picked.
I had headlight washers / low washer light standard with my xenons, and headed seats standard with my leather seats.
If I choose the Winter Pack, the only thing extra I get for about £250 is heated water jets.  Now THATS a waste of money!!
Golf R... 3 door, DSG, Leather, Reflex Silver, Black 19" Talladega Wheels, ACC, Parking Sensors, RNS510 with Dynaudio, Reverse Camera, Luxury Pack, Cruise Control & Fiscon Bluetooth.

If you order part leather, which is a waste of money IMVHO, then I'd agree that the Winter Pack is adding insult to injury!

Nice car, Golf R.

Me too, unless it is of very high quality.
The leather in the Golf is 'painted' stuff, a great amount is part-leather, looks cheap, it wears very badly, puts a shine on woolen trousers and needs 'cooling' in summer.

I grant you it's not the best hide in the world, but it sure as hell beats fabric as an option. Cloth seats in a 35k motor.....!

Ok Steve, perhaps the retro tartan looks ok in a GTI/D, but have you seen the cloth option on the R? Not good. Leather was the only sensible option.

Agreed - the standard seats in the R aren't really my cup of tea.

I like the ED30 ones best - tartan in the middle with leather bolsters.  The best of both worlds.
