carpet cleaning?

hi yall  :smiley:

i have had no carpets in my golf for what seems an eternity now. I have been storing my carpets in my garage and they have got some white mould growing on them.
Does any body know of any good cleaning substances or techniques that will get rid of this mould and keep it away as i dont what in coming back when the carpets back in the car?

i know halfords have some products but basic upholstery cleaner will work and if you can get hold of one of those carpet shampoo'ers like a vax then thats even better i used one on my seats and carpets and they came out like new  :evil:

yeah just get some upholsery cleaner and scrub it in with a stiff brush then scrape out as much muck with an old spoon or something. then when dry hoover them. that should do it!

I had the same mould as you, dont half make ya car stink!!!

Anyway, i used a upholstery cleaner from halford, cant remeber what it was tho but i didnt use the brush attachment i used a stiff placcy brush that i think you can get from halfords and scrubbed like a muthaf**k*r!!  that shifted most of the mould, and according to me mum, using a mild disifectent solution (one that isnt a bleach on, altho white interior would look pimp) to kill off the last of the mould!

Then hover the carpet with some of that shake n vac stuff to freshen it up!

will try that at the weekend and then try and get the carpets in the house to dry out properly.
