LEAK!

While i was hunting for a knocking noise i get when driving and goes away when i brake (which i never found  :undecided:) i came across this


its on the Drivers Side is it to the Power Steering, but there is also a lot of oil all over my drivers side of the wishbone well dark liquid stuff lol  :nerd:
power steering full is fine oil seemed ok
Any ideas

AGU 1.8T. Mods done: R32 front bumper, turborev smic, ngk platinum spark plugs, uprated pancake pipe, demon motorsport boost hoses, forge 007 dv, forge engine cover, r-tec stage 1 map ,home made cold airfilter ,run on 98 ron fuel and castrol edge 0w 40 oil. Advanti racing alloys.

Looks like the power steering high pressure hoses (going into/out of the rack?) weeping a bit. Could you just take them off at that bit (obviously you will lose the fluid) and clean them up, check and washers and refit them (then top up the fluid/bleed it through)?
Those pipes are pricey (one is £152 new) so thats what I would try first.

I would think they have sealing washers, if so replace them as a 1st step.

Yes Vw should sell them, easy enough to change but messy.

Item 6 (N0138494) and Item 7 (N0138486), look to be what you need, might even be worth replacing the bolts as well if not expensive.
