you should have swapped

the problem i see with polishing them is that it is a fashion and as with all fashions, they pass.

1906 is staying with me, it'll never be sold or passed on, so i dont want the car to become a contemporary statement of fashion.

i know what your saying but le castelletts were always diamond cut (or that look anyway) from the factory so its not like your doing a fashion thing but keeping them as they were made. and surely how they look was what attracted them to you in the first place? !!

castellets never had a polished finish - they always had a dull look to them. the teardrops were always polished though.

the key for the final colour and finish is a set of new centre caps from VAG. apparently they were the last ones left in the UK 2 years ago and I could only get hold of three. however, rather than screw up 3 new centre caps, 4 older unmarked centre caps are being given an identical finish to the wheels just to ensure that continuiuty.

don't get me wrong, no one will ever notice my car, but when they do notice it they will be nicely suprised.

oh right, i thought they had the same finish as the teardrops because the two sets i have had in the past were both nice and shiny, just like teardrops. and i thought gibbys were that shiney finish as well. you know the sort of finish i mean? it looks like its been cut as there is a slight groove running across the surface?
