radiator fan problem.

so. changed the radiator the other day, and bought a new fan switch for it aswell. so all fitting went as planned
but ever since, the fan doesnt seem to work. ive bypassed the fan and the motor is working fine. but i got the
volt meter out, and tested the plug on the back of the fan motor and got the following

12.9 on the earth
4 on the first speed
2 on the second speed

i presume the other 2 connections there are for the two different fan speeds.

everything seems to be earthed properly, so im a bit baffled, as i dont know much about electrics
can anyone else shed any light, or had the same kind of problem?

Pull the wires off the fan switch, poke a bit of wire into the plug, to bridge the circuit, if the fan cuts in, then you more than likely have a faulty switch, or the engine is not getting hot enough to kick the fan in, try the old switch again?

Or you have an air pocket and thats why its not getting hot enough?
 
Simple trick is to get a cup of boiling water dipp the sensor in and it should kick in above 70C ?
