I would say its a bit of a mess in there at 112k. Take off the clip and have a look in there with the valve in situ. I would be inclined to remove the whole system including the intercooler to give it a good flush, its all not that hard to do. Mine was filthy after 80k.

Oh also removing the vac pipe/deleting the EGR gives a slight MPG/performance increase.

You might as well take off your manifold just to make sure you have de gunked out the whole system.

I cleaned mine at around 160K and it was very heavily gunged up. I also removed the inlet manifold and cleaned the whole lot up.

Following that I carried out a procedure in VAGCOM to stop the EGR. So instead of physically removing it or replacing it I have used the software to stop it. Procedure is here:-

I now have 210K on the clock and it is fine :smiley:
