Good garage for VW Mk2 GTi's in Hampshire

In need of a good garage/spannerman in Hampshire (pref. Southampton/Winchester/Portsmouth if poss) or nearby to help with a vibration/running problem on my Mk2.

Recommendations with contact details anyone???

Give http://www.jkm.org.uk/ a call or email, there Vag specialist down in Portsmouth, never used them but buy things from there sometimes.

I did a rolling road day at JKM, they do tune ups, not sure if they do general fixings. VW City in Portsmouth, by Fratton Park, it looks a bit shady, but the owner, Vince, does know what he's talking about, and they've got a bodywork guy that my old man recommended me there. There's another VAG garage on Goldsmith Avenue in Portsmouth, but havne't been in there...just noticed it the other day

haven't noticed them two, may find jkm more expensive though, £50 an hour and £75 for dyno tuning etc.

They do do general repairs. seen a few track cars in there so must no something.

Emery, as far as I know, JKM have their own cars that they run, if you go on the website you'll see the specs...pretty tasty stuff.

German Auto Engineering in Porchester. Used them for years Cornelius (yes he's German) is very honest and helpful.

Thanks for those responses chaps. Will try some of them ASAP. Was advised JKM were OK but only interested in the latest ones you can 'Plug in' and for those who are able to just chuck money at them (the book-it-in brigade) & haven't had any joy when phoning so will give them a miss I think.

Is Alan White(?) the chap who used to run AutoTechnik at Southampton still about (mobile business??)? I've used him before and he was good.

yer they do seem like that JKM, wasnt interested in remapping a standalone and seem bit more commercial. Ive heard good things about that german guy too.
