Quick hijack, I asked you before, but don't rember the answer...
What paint did you use on the inlet mani and the rocker cover? Also why did you powder coat it (any gains?) and the last question *drum roll*, do you need to prep any of it in anyway for the paint.
I did a rocker job on my polo years back using hycote paint which required no prime just sand and spray but it does not have a great selection of colours as I'm intrested in gloss black and a navy/blue colour to match silicone.
Also what catch can is that as my toyosport one started leaking down the fluid level, tried sealing it several times and just giving up on it... Final question is, what induction kit you got there as I want abit more noise so looking at a cone one similar to yours...
The IC looks nice though, bet you can't wait for stage 2!
No probs the inlet manifold is just satin black halfords 500ml tin the cam cover is powdercoated well i wanted to run without my plastic top engine cover and didn't really want a mass of aluminium cover looking at me so i was going to paint it and then decided to have it properly powdercoated no gains its purely for cosmetics and easy to clean in answer to your question for any metal or plastic work on your car yes it will require prep work all i did for the inlet was mask over the injector bores and t/b and inlet ports cleaned off any dirt etc and gave it 3 coats of grey primer then you simply spray your selected basecoat colour etc 2/3 coats and if you like a couple of coats of laquer (i didn't as the satins slightly shiny)
my catch can is a forge one and when i ordered it i asked specifically for 19mm push fit inlet/outlets as they arent originally see here
http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0002&product=FMCT073and my induction kit is a carbonio kit expensive but imo worth it and jkm sorted that one for me
thanks for your comments on my intercooler too yes im well pleased with it and hopefully next monday its having a stage 2 map so yep i cant wait
