I liked the two-face scirocco with one half of it mint and the other half of it completely ratted. Very well done.
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

theres deffinatly a fine line between a mean looking rat and a car which just looks like a crap car with stuff stuck all over it
basically i got a Mk3 1.4 CL for £160 which is currently an MOT fail, i just need it to last me through uni then i can upgrade so ratting may be an option. although other than the interior its all in pretty good nic

few of my favs:

just leave it standard and a bit tatty. Then you'll just look like a motorist, not someone who tries too hard.

That matt black mk3 is particularly awful, with the e36 and rusty mk3 not far behind. Infact, its not even rat, its just what could have been a decent normal runabout painted really badly, having any resale value destroyed in the process.

and that e36 must have had a good 10 years left in it, instead theyve accelerated the rot in it to a point where, lets face it, it isnt coming back.

he e28 is moderately acceptable, mainly down to the motor (2JZE supra engine iirc?). But it looked so much better like this:

S4 Avant. Eibach springs. 18" Avus. RS4 Intercoolers. Viper Tuned. Goes Fast.

now that is nice!.... i remember seeing a similar beemer ratted and the car used to look as mint as the one you posted... i was in shock but then carried on reading the thread to realise that the car had been in a nasty smash so the owner decided ratting it was the next best thing to do after that (think it had been rolled)... he did a good job from what i remember and its one reason that would justify the change.... cant remebr where i saw it.

I really really like that last ratty Beemer. Looks reallyhard as a pose to a drugdealers car? But I come from bikes and like rods too so that's where it stems from lol

Nah man. I just saw there was another ratty one after whch I didn't mean. I like the one with the shark teeth on the wing.

I'm on my phone so can't see - did it get ruined or made really nice?
