Looking good Asker, did Darren fit the phone kit for you also?

Yes he did fit the VW Premium kit. It really works a treat with the Blackberry. Completely seamless. Wonderful workmanship by Darren. Very fine young man. Recommend him highly.

Sunday maybe you can help me. (I don't know your real name!)
With the RCD310, when I engaged reverse, the radio would mute but come on once I started driving at over 18 kph when the doors also locked. Now when I engage reverse, the RNS510 does not mute. The screen says optical parking sensors etc but the radio stays on. I have F/R 'acoustic' parking sensors but nothing optical. Wierd.

Christ, you're right. Maybe this can be changed by accessing some part of the menu? In extras maybe? I'll post some pics later of the radio only screen which are also a bit wierd in colour. Not silver, but brown/orange.
I am trying to get my head round the RNS. I don't have an instruction manual and I need one badly. It's so bloody hot outside that I gave up fiddling this morning. Temp gauge in the car read 32 d C.
Maybe I should have stuck with the RCD310 and got a Tom Tom
The RNS510 does look superb though!

Mine doesn't mute in reverse. I have heard the doors lock once you get over a certain speed but I've only heard this once a few months ago, there maybe a setting in the MFD to control this.

VW do a fancy gear knob I'm not sure if its the same but its about £200.

That looks frigging gorgeous Asker, your knob I mean...

I think I might have to stump up the cash and get mine surgically enhanced replaced.
