I never kerb my wheels by keeping a good distance from the car in front to give me more time to dodge urban craters and park miles away from the kerb(People think I can't park!)
I also protect my wheels by washing it every week and applying sealant on it every month

I thought I had OCD!

It helps if you don't live in London. Some of the spaces I've had to get mine into without damaging them, I've actually insisted on having my wife walk round the car to admire my work. Sometimes she humours me, most of the time she tells me to stop being a saddo.

Actually, I did kerb one of my wheels, it was a slight scratch on driver side front, very minor but I caught an edge on a granite kerb that had fallen forward and when I reversed in, didn't see it but caught it when I pulled forward to straighten up. I wasn't even tight to kerb and just thought I'd gone over road debris or something. Felt 

What are the best tyres for offering a little protection, I feel I would have been spared with a little more tyre wall. Currently running factory fitted 17" Michelins.

10 month in and 8000 miles and not one scratch.

Fantastic wheels, look great and just wipe clean.

All look like new.

It's mainly to do with hand/eye cordination

I'm really glad I took the Monza II. They looked a lot better in the flesh. Mine is almost 2 months old 9300km. Just had a 6400km euro trip from Norway to Italy and back. Monza II still in perfect condition. I treat them the same way as the paint work. My wheels get waxed and polished. I love that they are extremely easy to keep clean and they look great. They are also quite unique here in Norway. I haven't seen any other car with Monza's.

I've noticed on mine that I've managed to get scratches that must have come from stones or something, actually on the polished part of the rim 

I guess I'll need to get them refurbed at some point perhaps... just to get that shiny feel back.
