A dinger I would guess is a damaged car?  so I would also guess he means parts off a damaged car?

Ill see what plug is on the GTI and your GT and you may be able to just buy the plugs from the dealer and change them over to fit your new fogs.

Ill get the part number in a minute

Buy 2 of these from your dealer 3D0 941 165A and replace the plugs that are on your original fog wiring,  they will then just plug straight in.

I bought the bumpers off a friend of a friend, seemed a good deal so i thought id stick them on my car to jazz it up a bit.

thanks for the help with the part numbers. i have been trying to find the correct connector all day at various electrical companies with no joy.

the guy at my local VW dealer said that i would have to buy the full loom if i wanted the connectors!!

once again, thanks for the great help!!

im feeling pretty proud now to be honest. a bit more work and expense than i first imagined and at the moment im driving round with the rear valance off so the fumes dont come into the car but its looking good.

i would buy a GTI  but i do 30k miles a year and it would be a shame to run it into the ground like that!! would cost me double in fuel aswell!!

Bless this poor little car has no idea what it is

Not only is she wearing GTI bumpers and badging but is kitted out in Audi wheels, talk about loss of identity.
