DSG SOFTWARE REMAP
« on: 28 May 2010, 12:13 »
As I understand HPA Motorsports & Revo do a remap on the DSG to make it work more like manual gearbox.
However, I have heard some reports on this remapping.
It seems that it does more harm than good to the DSG.
Guys, I am sure some you have your DSG remapped & would like to hear from your point of views.
Cheers mate!!!

It's not currently available for the later DSG boxes fitted to the Mk6, I have the DSG software on my old Mk5 and can't wait to get it on the Mk6 as soon as it's available.

THese where the listed benefits on the Stage 2 version for the Mk5 DSG: -

    * No kick down in Manual Mode
    * No forced change up in Manual mode plus a 7400 rpm redline
    * Improved torque handling (increased to 500nm)
    * Increased shift speed
    * More "sportier" characteristics to the D and S modes (only effecting full throttle)
    * Increase Launch Control limit to 4000rpm
    * Rest of the flash counter when the software is applied

Sounds intriguing, as I'm not 100% satisfied with the behaviour of my DSG since I had the Revo remap, but I don't understand how software can increase the gearbox's ability to cope with more torque

If you know where the kick down switch is (and how not to use it) and aren't fussed about red lining your car (I'm sure most aren't), then there doesn't seem to be much point IMO. Unless it really does improve the shifting in general.

It done by increasing the hydraulic pressure to the clutch plates :nerd:

On my old ED30 it made a massive difference, we just need more people to ask revo to finish the development for the can bus version of the DSG box
