I'm lucky with mine.My mate is a techie with VW so mine gets serviced for beer money & get the main dealer stamp.

Theres just not need for that now is there, b@stard !

I did the same. Was vw all the way but tbh Arnold Clark VW were very poor in terms of service both mechanical and customer. They showed very little interest and almost contempt for me and my car. I took her to an Indy and got personal service and a chunk of money off together with a great service and the satisfaction that the big boys didn't get my hard earned. It may make a difference to some buyers when you come to sell though. As you'll imagine some people will want the "comfort" of having the vw main dealer stamps. Makes no real odds past 4th year IMHO as long as it's been serviced properly by a specialist and not the local back street garage. 

Who do you go to if you don't mind me asking?
My cars been due a service for months but I really don't want to take it to my local dealer (verve) need a cheaper option.

Great service, knowledgeable guys and they don't seem to dick about with charges if you get an error code up unlike AC etc.

I'd rather have my car worked on by people who give a toss, unlike the time and motion corner cutting monkeys and their stressed out managers in the big boys. I've got a few mates who work in a large franchised garage and the push for productivity and cost saving can have a serious impact on quality and safety of the work. But, that's just my thoughts.

Worth getting a quote from them or visiting for a chat, it's a very different experience from the big boys.

Im quite ucky. I get all mine done through work, i work in a Audi dielership. But if i didn't i wolud only use VAG specialist. cos to be honest they are no different to main dealers in what they can do. and they are genraly cheaper

I got a cracking deal on the GTI anyway it was one we got as a traid in £9000
