^^^ Correct, Ross Tech are currently gathering scans of cars factory and retro fitted with the lights before they up date the software to allow this bit be to changed via the long coding helper from what I can understand.
As for Jellycats question, the LED's do have a different connector (a much smaller one) and there is currently no VW plug and play adapters.
I (like many other people on ebay.de) make these, the key difference being I make them out of original VW connectors and repair wires, and wrap them in VW original wiring loom webbing tape.
The bits required to make these adapters are £65 (list rrp inc VAT) from VW.
