Hi Corey. I am running the stock k jet gti pump, I have been told they are up to th job.

Wiring got a little confused as I think we made a mistake. We followed rubjonny's guide for splicing the looms. We needed to swap the fuel pump relay but I can't remember which one we used and I do.t know if this was needed to correct a orevious error so not much help.

Don't have a pic of the battery yet but all we did was turn it 90 degrees then slide it as far forward as possible so the front edge is under the slam panel and behind the headlight.

ahh right. thats good im also using a k-jet pump. thought i got it all wired up today. sounded like it was priming, turned the key and it was cranking but no start up. wars gonna go through it all with a multi meter but got too dark. im using a 30A relay as per my friends mk1, so might be a little different to yours. do you have a link to rubjonnys guide? what problem did you have with yours?

i tried the battery like you have but the clamps didnt reach the terminals. have you extended your battery wires at all?  im guessing the way you have it, that it still fits under the battery tray clamp (if that makes sense?) as mine did also.

thanks
Cory

It still fits in the standard clamp. As for the wires, I fitted a longer live to the starter motor. The others were ok, just needed to undo some cable ties to make a bit more slack.

I will try and find a link.

The only problems we had were not following the guide properly!

Yes will be running cable shift with an 02j gearbox. If you can get a price that would be great.

Must get a build thread up as well

Aargh there are 2 of you lol!

Can either of you help with my shifter? I have the unit installed and cables attached to the o2a box but there is no tension. Won't select gears and shifter sloppy. I assume I need some cable stops somewhere so the inner cable moves and the outer doesn't (like a clutch cable)

What am I missing? I have literally got the cables attached at both ends and nothing more.
