Can't quite believe you spend this sort of money on a car and miss out on the absolute pleasure of reading the manual(s)
once or twice. :huh:

You should all be made to read it before you are allowed to take delivery.

Blokes don't need or read DIY manuals or TV instructions - but a Golf GTI??  Shameful.

The manual is rubbish. Hard to follow, and the warning to keep americans happy everywere are a pain. Its a shambles imo.

I just love the smell and feel of a new manual and it's neat [in this case] leather folder, but I only scan read it, then look at it in more detail as, when and if I find things I'm not sure about. :cool:

i would agree with some of those points you made, but i am under the belief that controls and how to operate something should be intuitive or just familiar or made common sense so you don't necessarily have to read the instructions. it would be a very stupidly designed car if how to operate it required going through the *whole* manual.
