Seat Cupra R Rear brake conversion
« on: 25 April 2010, 20:34 »
Trying to do this on my mk2, parts i have are 2001 polo rear stub axles/bearings, cupra r rear callipers/carriers/bearings, splash guards, mk2-4 rear brake conversion hoses, tried to fit the bits today but cuprs r bearing is little bigger than the polo style so there is too much play, any ideas as to what bits additional i may need to carry this conversion out? ( Want to stay 5x100 )

Because the 312mm fronts make the rears look tiny, and they are shot so thought to upgrade!

not worth it dude...you may upset the handling with over braking the rear end.  Just fit mk4 calipers.

theres certain polo and ibiza rear braking that basically makes it soyou dont ahve to do bearings and all that chaff when you do the disc.. it becomes a hub and bearing assembly much like the front.. its all about practicality and that - thats why the modern stuff is like it, rears dont do much but then they rust out, thats the usual reason for replacement..
