n249 bypass question
« on: 09 April 2010, 15:58 »
just done this today, i was wondering how long did it take for your cars to settle down to the change? in the write up it says expect it to be a little jumpy for a while, iv just drove home 4 miles and ive noticed that if i keep it at the point where i can just hear the boost kreeping in, i can hear it fluctuating? iv had a look and no pipes are of and it ticks over with no hunting so i dont think its a leak, any1 else experiance this? ( i can probly hear it more though cos of the cai ) is this just the bedding in stage?so to speak?
i also fitted the spacers to my 007p that awesome sent me for the apparently faulty spring, it seems a little better but im still not convinced, the spring was green and now has 3 spacers. think im gona ask for a new spring :undecided:

I did my AUM about a year ago now and i never really noticed any fluctuation or "settling in" period. I did notice that it made a difference to the power delivery - it feels more direct now if that makes sense?

Could be to do with your DV spring, you running a remap at all?

EDIT - Just read your sig and you have a stage 1 map - should be running a yellow spring, the green is too weak for a remapped car - get it changed and it should feel a lot better.

I dont this too, was gonna suggest N75 valve change but i seen you done that. Just a question too, whay way on did you put your flp-007 valve? Reason i ask is they tell you to fit it opposit to original bosch which i did for a while and i was fluctuating, i fitted it the other way and its smooth as anything now and actually hold boost better.

Well put it back how it was and see what it does. It may be pure coincidence that something else may be to blame? Also was gonna say, and i know its not to do with your N249 problem but i got a spare yellow spring if you want it, bought the kit from Forge and now have 2 yellows.

it'll fluctuate like that if the spring is too weak, you wouldn't notice it as bad with the n249 operating the dv but now it relies just on manifold pressure, which isn't an on-off switch.

i see your point but surely the n249 is only ever going to give the dv vacuum, now it has vacuum all the time ( when not on boost) if you get me?
as for the yellow spring mate, ive emailed awesome, if they dont send me one il buy it off you, cheers

also when i say fluctuating theres no actual dumping just the turbo spining up then dropping off
