Yes the paint looks similar colour to that as can be seen in my photos above.
|Im use to having silver cars so i probably would not have noticed the difference in that colour  :embarassed:
Oh and the video showing them fitting the grill, those are the screws i adjusted to get my grill to fit better yesterday.

fire the guy that fitted the grill we know who he is.

On my mk5 the boot is a pale red and white, not like the Tornado Red on the outside.  So you can assume its ok.

I was nosing around a white Golf in the dealership when I was looking to buy mine and I remarked to the wife about the boot floor being the same primer colour as you show in your first post. As others have said, it's all about cost reduction

Yep wheel arches at the front are pasty pink too on my mk5.

A couple of extra questions
When i switch the ignition off theres 3 beeps (over about a 3 second interval) then a click from under the bonnet is that normal
My xenons also don't seem to do the startup dance
Im starting to sound like James Gould

(1) With my Xenons, which are retro-fit ones, there is no click from under the bonnet. No 3 beeps or 'start-up dance'. It seems that the 'start-up dance' is not a good thing as it is indicative of a sub-standard fitting.

(2) What I find annoying is that one has to keep the 'close' button held down all the time on the key fob for the open windows to close. A quick press and release the second time does not close the windows. Maybe this can be re-programmed.

(3) With driving lights on, the tail and number plate lights are off.

(4) Driven 20 miles in London today in comfort mode. Roads are really horrible and the comfort mode definitely does help.

(5) Could not get the bonnet re-aligned today as the Warranty Manager was not in and she has to see this in order to give the bodyshop the go-ahead. Monday will be the day. Checked 3 other Golfs and all of them had simiiar mis-alighnment problems of the bonnet.

(6) Noticed quite a bit of tyre roar and wind rustling at speed (75mph, speed limit 50 mph!) on the A40 Western Avenue in London. Maybe the Bridgestones will bed-in.

(7) Difficult to use the cigarette lighter without cutting my thumb due to sharp edged plastic surround around the lighter. Yes, I smoke but don't use the ashtray!

(8) Luggage net in boot is a most useful but expensive accessory at £41.

(9) Steel trims on door sills are very enhancing and worth the money.

(10) Possibly wish I had optioned the Dynaudio sound system. I'll wait and see how the standard speaker system sounds with the more powerful RNS 510 amplifier.

(11) Great colour. The red seems to get brighter and more dramatic by the day!

Love the car more and more by the day.

So far, that is all I have to report.

Makes you wonder what else you can't see that they leave off in the name of cost saving... I am surprised they don't put a proper coat of paint in these areas any more but I guess it's not going to make much difference, assuming they've applied proper corrosion protection. A few extra layers of paint and clear coat in these areas would help though and it's the first time I've ever seen seam sealer which hasn't been painted over.
