Advice Please: Golf GT TDI 140
« on: 24 March 2010, 12:41 »
Hi I'm currently driving a Citroen Saxo and have been looking at golfs as my next car.

Heres the question.

My girlfriends dads got a VW Golf 2.0 GT TDI 140 coming up for sale at work. Its a 5 door in Diamond black, with 83k on an 06 plate. Its got full VW service history and has had the turbo replaced at xmas.

The guy who owns it atm has only washed it by hand and has treated it asif its his own car apparently. He wouldn't let me see it until it was all cleaned up.

I've got pics of the interior and exterior. It looks absolutely mint going by the pics, but i'm a little bit worried about buying a car thats done quite so many miles. 83k would be the end of a saxos life almost anyway lol!

What sort of price should I been looking at for one of these?

Been told this site was the place to ask

Will be seeing car at the weekend in the flesh hopefully

Cheers

Ben

Sounds like ok miles to me, but high for the age. If its motorway miles then its not so bad. Surprising that the turbo failed so early. I would have one any day. It also means you can haggle with the price because of the miles. If the history is sound, that is also one to look out for . But i am a girl, so what would i know!!!

Its 20k miles a year isn't it. I dont know how its been driven, but i've been told the guy treats it asif its his own car (not company car)

I really want one  :undecided:
