done it was not to bad to do was a bit gunked up but no to bad its still slightly black inside but nothing lose think its just a little stained.

now i need help with 2 things 1st is there is a ball like thing bolted to the pipe running from the egr to the intercooler about half way along in the middle what is it and what should i do with it as when i change my pipes it will no longer bolt to anything any suggestions?

2nd anyone know how to remove the 150pd front mount intercooler? need to clean out tomorrow i know to remove bumper but is it so difficult to remove intercooler or can i leave it attached and still clean it some how??

looks like another pm to mr rhys then  :grin: iirc rhys had his i/c off when he had his problem with it afaik its roughly the same procedure as the 1.8T's

Need to remove the aircon radiator which involves draining the system

Only way to do it on the car is to flush it with a hose but I wouldn't advise that

completely as it will be full of oily vapour - its just a pain to do on the 150 as its illegal for you to drain the aircon system - you need to have it done by someone who is licensed

i have cleaned intake manifold and going to put brand new sfs hoses from egr to intercooler and didnt want they to gey gunked up again going to use oil catch can as well so that should help so with all that done should i leave the intercooler alone and wait for some one qualified to do it like vw themselves or not? just dont want to do all this hard work for the intercooler to be the down fall
