Hate to dampen your spirits guys but a friend of mine got a similar product for his car a while back. It was basically a plastic ring which clipped round your wheel and was held on by the tyre. He was heading down a motorway and hit something with his wheel. The rim protector snapped clean in half and his wheel instantly went flat.
a) it was very cold so it could have been more fragile
b) it was probably only because he hit the debris with his wheel (or whatever it was)
c) they may have been improved since then.
I am personally not keen on putting anything between my tyre rim and my wheel rim... especially if I'm on the motorway or using the performance of my car. I wonder how they hold going round a corner quickly?
From the vid it looks like this product is a material which is pressed on. Personally I have my doubts that something which can be so easily pressed on and shaped will be so strong against damage. But at least it's safer than sticking a rim between your tyre and alloy.
I do reckon though that being more careful would be a better plan
