Cleaning around petrol cap
« on: 15 March 2010, 13:05 »
Looking for a recommendation of a brush and what cleaning stuff would be used to give around the petrol cap a clean and inside the flap itself please.

Ta.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

spray APC on... let dwell a bit, work with a paintbrush/detail brush if necessary.. then pressure wash off

tip: stand well back when you pressure wash as the water from inside a petrol cap just goes in about 50 different directions... most of which seems to be in the direction that you are standing

Will the APC cut through it ok ? Any ideas for dilution ratio ? I'll be getting the Autosmart APC if that makes any difference.

it will easily cut through it. dilute at 10:1. don't let it dry on the paintwork.
