Remapping a car wont causing you to use you more petrol, in most cases you actually use LESS as you have more useable torque, this meaning you dont have to put you foot down as far when driving normally.

The reason you often find that you use more petrol in a remapped car is because you inevitablely drive it harder than a non mapped one. My car is remapped and I can get 30mpg EASY out of it with normal driving.

You would have kittens If I told you how much I paid R-Tech to remap mine with a group and forum discount.

Can't remember what Alan paid but it's £250 for forum members during march on the MK5 GTI.
