You would be a perfect person to ask evo... Why do you and the rest of the dealers bend us over a barrell for extra money when the book clearly states how much an item costs including fitting ?

I wouldn't stand for that sort of service personally if it says a price including fitting it doesn't matter where you go some dealers are simply idiots report them to VW customer services.

Thanks evo. Good to have you around.
I am going to report mine and a few others I have had the displeasure in communicating with.
Most of them are pretty clueless and are worse than useless.
I wish VW dealers were of the same calibre as Honda and Toyata dealers.

Inchcape dealers have little booklets at the sales desks - cruise control £156 fitted.  My sales guy pointed out they were often cheaper than factory fit on certain items.

I have to say though there seems to be a lot of disparity in the price of the door sills between the Golf price list brochure and the other listings - perhaps it is the labour costs, but its not that hard to peel off some backing tape and stick 'em down.

I have written a firmly worded letter to my dealership and also spoken to them today.
I have made it absolutely clear that if they do not meet their obligations, I will get VW Customer Services involved.
I have already spoken to VW and they are willing to take up my case if I receive no satisfaction from the dealership. They have been extremely supportive.

Just this minute got a positive e-mail from my dealership: Inchcape VW, Telford.
They have agreed to supply and fit Cruise Control, Steel Door Sill Trims and the Luggage Net for prices as in the Accessories Brochure.
My letter had the desired effect.
I am pleased.

Thanks evo, kev and percymon.
