electric window fitting and parts
« on: 23 February 2010, 17:21 »
hi all
ive just got a secondhand aftermarket period 4 door electric window kit. It was made by Electrosky and these were options available at the time. The doner car was an '86 8v gti and its going into an '87 16v. I have the window motors, all the switches and thats about it really. Was there anything else i should have got and how exactly do i wire it all in?? I didnt remove the loom. Is there anything at the fusebox end that i should have got? Theres  also a main window up switch too (i think thats what is is anyway)

you need to get the entire loom from switches, to fusebox to motors. since its aftermarket the vw wiring diagrams probably wont help

This is bastard job imo, and hate to say it but you should over noted where the loom went to and from otherwise trying to get it all to work will be a mission without a decent electrical knowledge.

Some trial and error is the only way now, unless you contact the manufacture and see if they'll sling you the wiring details (might be tricky).

Good luck!

if it was me I'd get a vag wiring loom + switches, then plug em into your motors. preferably get vag motors too, but if the ones you have worked ok before then they should work ok now.

the car was being broken privately, so the car is still there but a 3hr round trip is needed.

I got a yellow switch in the middle on mine and its for locking the rears.
