Photography agent
« on: 21 February 2010, 11:25 »
I was looking at jobs the other day and thought id check out if there were any photography related ones and came across

www.sophotogenic.co.uk

now i have been in contact with them shown them some of my work etc and they have said that the Bristol region is free and that i could cover it if i wanted so had a think and said yes!

Now they don't pay me (thats down to me to sort out) but promote me etc etc but thought id take the plunge and see what i can do, was a bit scary as its out of my comfort zone but would regret not trying it and when i get my vr will get my Studio lights :)

but will be chatting with them about what i need to do to register myself as 'self imployed' and for tax reasons etc, but did see a thread over on the photography forum i go on explaing it all, what you need to pay after you earn 'x' amount etc etc

but its the first step in the right direction i feel, well at least hope so!

Why not dude. You clearly have the ability so it's the natural next step.

Make sure you're VERY organised if you're going self employed.

best of luck mate

here is a link for registering self employed http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/selfemployed/iwtregister-as-self-employed.htm

I have been self employed for years and the most important thing is good book/account keeping and make sure you get or your tax returns done on time, and you will have no problems
