mk2 VR6 brakes - front pads
« on: 14 February 2010, 22:03 »
evening chaps

didnt really know where to post this as the car is several vehicles in one

the orange mk2 vr6 is running the Ibiza sport 16v 280mm brake setup with greenstuff pads and grooved discs, and a G60 master cylinder. It stops very well except when slowing down from speed, i.e. the pads fade oh so quickly!

I did a search but 'greenstuff' comes up several times... Have you guys got any other brake pad suggestions?

Car is only being used on the road, i.e. no track days

I don't think a semi will give the same results

Try Mintex 1144, i have always used these, and find them great, you should be able to get these of any auto factors that stock Mintex Parts.

ok mate will ask around, will be having the brakes looked at on Wednesday and fluid replaced with dot5.1 to rule out contaminated brake fluid

I find Pagid "fast road" pads excellent, although that is on 239mm brakes
