Yea good ridance to Volvo's ESP XC90 , Do you really need this kind of motor in london?? (NO)

Stupid comment, each to there own when it comes to choice of cars. "Do you really need a golf that can do nearly  150mph when we have a speed limit of 70mph" Think about it!!

Not meaning to sound nasty, but you really don't get it, do you?  My point is you stop people having big 4x4's then whats next, stopping performance cars. Also I don't live in London, I live on the outskirts of Wales. Its also not my car, as I stated its my wife's car! Her money her choice. As for needing a 4x4 in London, do you really need a car at all when you have London underground and bus service??

I'm buying an XC90 for my wife and it's much more of a 'need' vehicle than a 'want' vehicle - 'need' is a bit of an exaggeration but what I'm saying is that the Freelander 2 is just, at times, a bit small for our needs - we'll use the golf whenever we don't need the extra space - but I do understand how you feel (though I'm not a Londoner - I live in Newcastle upon Tyne) - some big 4x4 drivers are extremely rude and have no road manners but I find it's more the case with Range Rover drivers (no disrespect to well mannered RR drivers) - there are more financially obnoxious RR drivers than XC90 drivers and there are plenty of w*****s in minis

James:
May your XC90 keep your family safe and your GTi keep them totally delighted and safer!
Have you decided which GTi you are getting?
All seems very quiet on the 'Western Front'!

Regarding the comment about needing a car in London... lol he's never tried getting a good sized pram on either the northen line or the Victoria line tube when it's busy - not forgetting the stations!

Also XC90  ...... Q5 way way better very nice car to drive, reasonable cost to run (can also get the GTI engine). Also not sure about the volvo, but the optional panoramic sunroof in the Q5 is really great especially if you've got kids!
