Are they still not illegal if it didn't come as OEM? :lipsrsealed:

yeah maybe but nowhere near as bad as HID's in standard lenses!  its poop if they are illegal as there's nothing wrong with projectors if setup correctly.

Tiz a bit poop, however I would double check the in's and outs before splashing the hard earned. Not saying don't do it just do your homework. I'm not 100% but if fitted behind normal glass beam scatter blinds everyone. Plus they need to have washers too(?) I know all the Xeonon's I've seen have washers (mine included). I'll need to look at the link again but do they replace the OEM glass with their own glass?

projectors dont need washers... My daily has standard projectors but no washers...

and it looks like those boys use new, clear glass.

how about butchering crystal clear lamps for the clear glass?  :smug: as (of course) the OE lamps have a frosted glass

anyways the projector units i linked to are designed for (and supplied with) HID bulbs.

Unsure on legality of headlamp washers on an older vehicle though

I don't think a semi will give the same results

I think I have been talking cross modalities between, Xenon, HID and Projectors. My bad, been a long day :embarassed:

i think what soundillusion is saying is that OEM (and aftermarket) projectors using conventional bulbs do not need washers

modern OEM HID headlamps on the other hand, projector style or otherwise, need washers

sticking HID bulbs in normal headlamps designed for conventional bulbs can cause glare as the beam pattern sometimes isnt brilliant, and isnt road legal (although would pass MOT if beam pattern is ok)

but using a purpose designed HID/projector lamp unit and modifying a mk2 lamp to accommodate it? now thats a grey area!!

Not really as a mk2 lamp is not designed to run hid's, god knows where you stand with it.

exactly what i meant but neo has made some interesting points... dont know about you but I would only be interested in conventional bulbs in a projector lens which has been the norm in soooooo many standard cars for many years now.  the light itself would be perfectly legal if setup correctly but i'm sure as you say the setup would possibly upset the law and they wouldnt even know why!
