Was going to say - they can do TRW brand new non exchange stuff - I got a pair of brand new rear mk3 calis from them the other week.. using the right numbers its hell of a recource using them as middleman to TRW.. Brand new carriers also FTW!

just bought recon rear calipers. DOH! these didnt come with the carriers either. Carriers were fine but the internal hex carrier bolts are worn and i could do with some new ones, but genuine dont do them seperately!

I think i can safely say that will do! love the colour as well! get it cleaned up and it will look so good!

cheers love!

Got sick of 15mpg so today we fitted a new NTK (NGK) lambda sensor, the old one was only fitted for around 12 months but was a cheap copy.

The decat pipe was also modified today as the lamda sensor mounting hole was sitting too proud of the pipe, so only the tip of the sensor was in the flow of exhaust gases  :lipsrsealed:  probably didnt help with the emissions/running rich issue. the sensor mount was shortened accodingly

MOT emissions readings a month ago were 4.05 CO (fail) and subsequently 3.45 CO (marginal pass) on the retest. Once warmed up i'm now getting CO readings of 0.6 to 1.1 - which is pretty good for a car with no cat

there may still be temp sensor or thermostat issues cos it took an age for it to lean out (i.e. think its warm enough to come off choke). probably my fault for having a low temp t/stat fitted  :lipsrsealed: but at least it wont be a constant 15mpg any more

ok so mainly been tidying up over the last few weeks.

needed to get the central locking working off the alarm remote, as this suddenly stopped operating. traced it to this:

worn through wiring

cut it out and soldered/heatshrinked the wires

it still wouldnt work  so had to dig the alarm out to trace a blown fuse on the alarm loom:

yeh so thats a right mess! once i convert my replacement centre console to a Votex style one i'll tidy the alarm wiring up  One of the reasons for a Votex style console is to use one of the DIN slot covers as a back plate for the start switch rather than the aluminium effort thats jammed into the ashtray at the moment:

this shouldnt take much to fit, although you need to modify an original console so hence getting a replacement:

Then i went about sorting the 10v issue on the main loom which feeds pretty much everything, in the end it resulted in the car being stranded as it wouldnt start.

traced it to the terminal block in the engine bay (as battery is in the boot), one of the cables was burnt through as it was too thin

then i visited mattneck(Beavis) for some interior bits, including new centre console, handbrake cover, scuttle tray etc

(plus a whole load of screws!)

didnt use one of the switches on the dash:

so got a new switch blank:

handbrake was missing its trim:

sorted:

Rear strut top was missing a cover but got this from mattneck too, couldnt be arsed to take a pic of this  :lipsrsealed:

also fitted the missing screws into the dash undertrays/clock surround as these were missing.

amongst the horde i collected yesterday was a drivers side footwell kick plate (top half) as this went missing in our workshop  but i cant fit it as im now missing the big plastic nut!
