Loan Car
« on: 07 February 2010, 12:43 »
My GT  is in for a bumper respray after the hash they made of it the first time, anyhow they have given me a Golf Plus (59 plate) 1.4 TSi 122bhp to play with whilst mine is getting some promised TLC.

Here is what I like about the Plus, parking sensors...

What I don't like..... don't want to bore you all, sorry not a good word to say roll on getting the real golf back.

What fo you like about the Plus ?

I've never driven a Plus so can't comment too much, have had a go in an Altea though and quite liked it.
I've seen a few modified Plusses on German forums that look pretty cool. There used to be one local to me wearing Monza Shadows (reps probably or painted to look like Shadows) that looked smart.

I've had a couple as loans while getting the GTi serviced, and it's like they added a loft conversion to a bungalow.  Totally weird and totally pointless when done to a car.  It should not be allowed to wear a "Golf" name plate.  Reminds me far too much of the Hyundi Matrix

Each to their own I guess, but for me I think they're ugly and didn't even bother looking at a golf plus. Get a Q5 - they're great if you've got 1 or 2 littleones, very practical, yet easy to park nice kit levels (sun roof is fantastic). Also they're not bad on the juice with great performance from the 2.0T if you're like me and don't like oil burners

Pretty pointless car because all the addiitonal space over a normal Golf is at head height - unless you want to strap your roof box to the roof lining as opposed to the roof its pointless

3 days into the loan car and still not found another thing I like about it, the engine is OK but for the weight of the car can sound strained, I'm use to 2000 RPM = 80mph with the TSi its 2000rmp= 60mph....
