People running BBS RZs/ET24 alloys...
« on: 06 February 2010, 20:09 »
Just put some RZs on my Golf with a 195/55/15 profile and having some rubbing issues. The rear arches don't seem to be as bad as how they used to be with my 80mm drop suspension,
They're not as close to the arches as they were with my old alloys,
yet when I'm driving, they start rubbing,
and the front wheels are rubbing on the arch cowling. Will this be remedied by putting a 50 profile tyre on them, or am I going to have to look at a 185/50/15 tyres all round?

195/55 is too big especially with a 24mm offset, 185/55 being the largest diameter standard size. Think 195/50 with arch work, or 195/45.

Ok so apparently I can't get 185/45/15, so will 195/45 be enough?? Is that gonna stop the rubbing on the cowling, or am I gonna need to take that off completely?

That offset sounds way out for the car. I thought you needed et35 for mk2's
What car did they come off?

BBS RZ's are normally ET30 rich. you sure yours are ET24??

just rip the innner arch liners out, get rid of the balloon tyres and fit 195/45's. JOB DONE

Dean, yea sure they're ET24, that's what's stamped on them. They're 15s, and 7j, so different dimensions to the ones you had. Gonna see if me old man's old garage can get me some cheap tyres. I got the Yokohama Parada I have on my old alloys for £30 a corner

I've got 7J ET24 with 195/50/15 tyres and a 30mm drop, koni shocks set to hardest and there isn't any scrubbing if the car is two up to speak of.

I get some scrubbing at the front myelf because unfortunately I have to run 2mm spacers in order for the wheels to clear the fooking calipers

Really need to find some better fit wheels that will ideally clear the calipers as a 7J with et24 is totally wrong for the car really.
