Could anyone shed any light about a pre ignition fault?????????

PRE-IGNITION
Carbon deposits form a heat barrier and can be a contributing factor to preignition. Other causes include: An overheated spark plug (too hot a heat range for the application). Glowing carbon deposits on a hot exhaust valve (which may mean the valve is running too hot because of poor seating, a weak valve spring or insufficient valve lash).

A sharp edge in the combustion chamber or on top of a piston (rounding sharp edges with a grinder can eliminate this cause).

Sharp edges on valves that were reground improperly (not enough margin left on the edges).

A lean fuel mixture.

Low coolant level, slipping fan clutch, inoperative electric cooling fan or other cooling system problem that causes the engine to run hotter than normal.

I had a dodgy N75 which led to pre igntion....

I got told by a vw mechanic today no matter what i do i wont be able to fix the fault codes the car is showing

He basically said the engine is knackered and to cut my losses and get rid.

Is this right or can anyone help?

 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Supply Malfunction

ive replaced the camshaft position sensor and had 2 new mafs all geniuine parts and nothing. The other fault was a new one yesterday.

got the codes cleared twice and they just keep coming back. car will not accelerate properly like its not firing on all cylinders. its also burning alot of oil but i hear the 2.0 gti do that anyway.

Had the wiring checked today and every things fine .

ive been told the only way to fix it is to replace the engine but that cant be right someone must have had this fault before and resolved?

Its been to vw and three other vw specialists and nothing just keep getting charged for looking at it

i cant sell it either not when its running like it is.

Do you know anyone who's clued up on the 2.0 engine's???
