its a sad sad day!!!
« on: 21 January 2010, 14:39 »
After spending the past few weeks treating my beloved gti to loads of new (working) parts - last night she died!!

Not sure what happened yet, but whilst driving up the M62 the car lost all oil and water within about 2miles.... Everything came to a horrible grinding stop with oil and water everywhere under the bonnet - with lots of smoke!!

Im gutted!!

Not sure if to fix it or break it now... GUTTED

aw man that sucks!! really sorry to hear it! hope it's fixable and not wrecked the engine.
Wouldn't be fun if it was easy, but does it have to be this much fun?

cheers lads....

My poor dead car is still sat at the services on M62.. waiting for my mates recovery truck to pick it up.

He's gonna have a good look to see if we can get it going again... but looks like the engine is beyond repair!!

Im on the look out for a new one - maybe make one good mk3 gti from a donar car and mine!!!

haha... funny you should say that!

I'd love a VR6 and now Im 28 - can afford the insurance (just)

although - isnt it just worth buying a full working vr6? Seen a few for around the £900 - £1200 mark

I'm only 19 and I can just about afford to insure a VR (£1200) so I don't see why you couldn't

It probably would be easier yeah but if your car is mint and you wanna repair it.. the engine has gotta come out anyway.. so might aswell stick a working VR back in
