Can't be arsed to read back through 7 pages to see if this has been posted before, however here's a link showing two blue Rs on the road, one with black and one with silver alloys.
They both look great.

Thanks for that - it's a new post.

It some ways, I wish I'd stayed with the blacks!!!!! Doh! Anyway, I'm playing it safe now, so Boring Silver it is.

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

I think the silver wheels make the car, they look so much bigger than the black ones, the car look more upmarket with the silver wheels and far less boy racer in my view. The black wheels with the blue just does nothing at all for me.

Blue and Silver all the way the black looses definition and so makes the tyres look bigger than they are, loosing the low profile look.

SilverChariot:
Silver NOT black, please.
If I really wanted to be evil, I would highly recommend black wheels to effectively ruin the overall look of your car!
This thread has gone as far as it should!

Thanks for re-quoting the original post.

I've changed my Golf R order. I'm now getting silver wheels. So, yes, this thread should be allowed to die peacefully.

Though, in the back of mind, I still think black wheels would work.
