It's less than £20 for oil at VW anyway!  Think I paid £17 for mine, and that's with no discount etc.

I just change my oil every March.  I do about 6k a year, so it works out nicely

20 quid for oil and filter or 600 quid for a top end rebuild and oil pump replacement when it picks up sludge from the sump.. your choice

taking your advise mate, as i feel like a 5 year old shouted at by his teacher..lol
cleaned the TB today and fitted new plugs and it made a huge difference. also bought a new oil filter but the oil in the shop was either crap or too expensive, so gonna pop to halfords tomorrow and do an oil and filter change, everthing is in order then, apart from the cam belt. But i cant do that with no moolah so thats gonna have to risk waiting till funds allow. yep, i know the risk but without the funds i cant do jack about it!
