Thank you JV for setting this up....

Right well lets get on with it then, bought the car for £300 with 70,000 on the clock and partial service history from scarborough, drove 6 hours there to get it only to find on the journey back that it had a really bad slipping clutch not fun when your trying to join a motorway!

So got her home and got the clutch done and gave her a bloody good clean, then over the last few months did lots of little things like, gave her a stubby mk4 knob and gaiter, drilled the airbox and gave it a cold air feed going from the bumper vents into the airbox and just generally kept her clean and running straight.

Then last week i bought some coilovers and fitted them, and now she is dropped by about 60mm (not sure how much exactly but i know on the back theres 8cm of thread left to lower here by and on the front there is 6cm) And i think she looks good at this height.

My vision is for an old skool looking euro/surf car as i do a lot of surfing and often drive around to surf spots.  I want the car looking good (subtle mods) but to have functionality too.

With this in mind the next mods are: debadged grill, and a roofrack (for my boards) the roofrack will help with the euro look i think? Also i want to smooth the bumpers and get rid of the rear wiper and badges.

Pics up tommorrow (i dont think at 2.53am the pics would be very good!)

Right so lets crack on with some pics....(i apologise for the quality, my cameras at uni so im left with my phone, as soon as i get back to uni i will take some decent ones, but for now you get the general idea)

This is stock back suspension strut that i took out to replace with the jamex coilovers:

This is the new jamex suspension strut in its place:

And the front:

This is my stubby knob i made by cutting the gear lever rod that the actual knob attaches too, used a proper pipe cutter tool to do it so its all neat and then used a mk4 gaiter and knob shipped in form Hong kong to complete it, the finished product looks rather splendid i thought and feels very nice too:

havent updated in a while so here we go....

Work that has been comleted, new gti seats, new parcel shelf (the other old one snapped), induction kit (with cold air feed ) and dropped even more.

heres some pics to accompany, starting with the new seats:

Next is the induction kit, i did have the modded air box but wanted to hear a bit more of a roar with the lead foot syndrome so as my mate had it lying around i asked if i could have it, he agreed and bam on it went, obviously put a cold air feed into it to help performance....

Next was a clean in preperation for gti festival, not a bad finish i dont think, considering im not using any pro waxes etc just good old turtle wax!!

Also tinted my indicators...

So thats it so far, just trying to find some dish rims for not stupid money....
