I was down 50mm(ish), 205s and no spacers and I had some fat barstewards in the back still didn't rub.

I will tell you the main issue.... the mk3 shell had a build/design issue where the rear axle is not central! some only have a few extra mm on one side and some have more (causing clearance issues on the 1 side!)

Thats shocking! But would't that cause it to crab?

I've never heard of them crabbing.... but I know a northern dealer group fitted spacers to one side on some when new to even them out!

Was gonna say thats a bit steep!! I was hoping they would be around 20 like the ones in halfords!! And to answer previous replies, im running 15 inch alloys with normal dunlop tyres (whatever the size standard tyres are!!) And dont know how low im going to go, what it low and flat so will adjust accordingly when i get my coilovers put on, i just didnt like the fact that my rear wheels arent as wide as my front ones so thought spacers would be the answer!

The reason why the halfords ones are cheap is the quality, much better to pay the extra due to the safety issues.
