no reverse gear

no reverse gear where is the cheapest place to buy the gear linkage to replace the old one. it's a 2.0 8v on a 96 n reg

why do you need gear linkage, has it snapped somewhere? if so go to scrap yard+ get a new bush kit so its all tight+ not slop[py.
If your linkage is fine then its poss that the reverse gear/idler in the box has been mangled or the selector in the box is screwed?

i've replaced the gear linkage and still i have to hold it in to reverse to get anywhere. does any one know where i could get a reconditioned box from and prices.
